Summer Reading

True confession (that will surely make my mother cringe) – I don’t like to read. Like, actual books. I know, I’m a terrible person! Blogs, fine. CNN.com and Business Insider, daily. Newpapers, sure. Magazines, most definitely. But actual books, not so much. I can’t remember if I ever really liked to read, although I HIGHLY enjoyed every Judy Blume book ever written, but I know that the Summer before 11th grade was the nail in the coffin. I believe the book was called “When Christ and His Saints Slept” and it was thousands of pages of reading that was hard to follow and everyone had the same name. It was BRUTAL . It may be a cop out (which I’m ok with) but I think Summer reading ended any real love I had for reading books. Somehow I made it through college (and three semesters of Theatre History among other things), but I never really rekindled the love. These days, I’m still full of excuses (of which I’m NOT proud of) and I do want to get back into reading BOOKS, or novels if you will, but it has to be a good book, it has to be easy to follow and entertaining  – so suggestions welcome!

In the meantime, I’ll tell you what I REALLY want to read and that is coffee table books/anything related to fashion! I mentioned my love for coffee table books in one of the first posts I ever wrote, and let me tell you my love hold-eth strong! Currently I’m dying to get my hands on Living in Style from Rachel Zoe among a bunch of others. Here is my roundup of “Summer Reading”…

  1. Ahhh I’m dying for that Kate Moss/Mario Testino book (love that pair), and can you believe I STILL haven’t gotten my hands on a copy of Grace’s memoir?!
